Re: Hunter 54 Refit and a Month to Do It In

There is a Hunter 54 in our marina, and the owners have a website, Hunter54.com for Owners and Information seekers of the Hunter 54 Sailboat I have never seen the owners in the time it has been here, at least 2 years +. It seems like they just stopped working on her. Lots of good photos on that site of what they found/dealt with.

Wow - I just looked at the photos... How much did they pay you to take the boat off of their hands?

Re: Hunter 54 Refit and a Month to Do It In

Feeling a tad masochistic that morning were we? One month to restore that? OMG. I look forward to seeing the progress reports on this one, assuming you have any time to post them.

Good luck, Charlie!

Because they're good, solid fast boats. Many have won ocean races.

I suspect that she will be great with a new cutom interior. Or are you putting it back the way it was? Has she got a name?

It'll go back pretty much the same. I keep forgetting to look at the name. Too much going on...

I had one of these. fast boats, but hard to keep going straight while motoring.
The steering tore loose in the Gulf Stream. the plywood to which the steering is attached to is unreinforced plywood and it rotted out. You might want to look at it.

That is no small task. You must have a very skilled and dedicated crew, the kind that is a pleasure to watch and work with. looking forward to more pix. Jesse

Re: Hunter 54 Refit and a Month to Do It In

A little update on work since Thursday. Chris and Zach have pulled up the old sole bits and taken down one head bulkhead that was rotted away at the base.

and

After some more pump out and clean up, we start laying the new sole tomorrow.

This looks like one of those reality home rebuild shows or this old house or something. I think you guys are gonna get alot of kudo's here. Charlie Cobra's "this old boat"! It could be bigger than The Most Dangeous Catch!
