My belief is, if you want to go the re-fitting way, buy something with the best posible engine, Sails and rigging! the rest you can work as you go, nothing better than sailing your vessel while you work on it, to me anyother way its frustrating to a huge level! seeing a beautifull vessel on the hard, or on the dock while everybody sails away....and with the budget you mentioned you can pick up a real nice vessel and make it what you desire..
