How to advice

I have an 8' piece of 3/4" stainless tubing C shaped and want to widen the distance between ends from 30" to 50". How best to do this ?

Re: How to advice

I'd take it to a shop and tell them what I wanted. A metal fabricator should do that for you for not much money. Perhaps someone here who works in metal can give you an idea of what it would cause to have it done.

When I've bent SS tubing, the symmetry has always been a little off after the bend was made.

Re: How to advice

I put two spikes in the ground 52" apart, put one end over one spike and pulled gently but firmly on the other until I got it over the other spike. Will leave It there for awhile, am applying some gentle heat to it. Looks optimistic. Thanks.

Re: How to advice

fill it full of sand, and just work it! The sand will stop it from deforming!
