Hi All...
I have a 1995 48PS that I acquired that had a hard grounding (pounded flat wing
keel on sandbar during tow) and lots of damage that is slowly being addressed... My next project is repairing the
rudder that I have removed from the boat...
The big problem I have, is that at least the bottom 1/3 (maybe more) of the
rudder is simply gone... I am looking for any drawings with dimensions, or at the very least, pictures of boats
on the hard which might show the rudder blade itself...I can
rebuild it... I just need to know what it looked like!!!
I tried emailing Wauquiez and Ed Dubois with no luck in receiving a reply…
Any other info or insights on the following would also be appreciated...
1. Rudder
shaft seal... (source-size) I pulled it out from the bottom, but it looks like the bearing assembly needs to come out to replace from the top...
2. Rig info... Mine came down and is in 3 pieces... drawings, pictures or thoughts???
3.
Keel joint separation... Looks like I got lucky and the bolts may have just backed off...
Inspection from inside shows no damage... Will
lift next visit to inspect and re-bed... Thoughts???
THANK YOU!!!
