Looking at installing a Sigmar dieselcabin heater on our 27 ft sailboat. Not so much room for a fuel tank so I was considering going with the fuel pump setup instead. I am a bit concerned with the electric draw. Has anyone here gone this route? Do these pumps cutout when the 3 lb pressure is reached? Colin...
Hi Colin, Dickinson makes a pump that cuts out at the proper pressure. I pulled one out and built a day tank for the new heater installation. The electrical draw seemed minor, but the noise (a clicking sound) was an issue for us.
I've got a little day tank. Holds ~4 gallons and we burn ~1 gallon a day when it's really cold. I'm actually sitting next to it right now so it will burn out. Hopefully shouldn't need it anymore this season:
