Heat Therapy for Cold Feet

I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the new foot-warmer vent I just installed, along with my new Safire 3600 forced air diesel heater.

Two of the four output vents from the Safire 3600 come out through the cabin sole under the captain's table. A board is then installed 3cm above the vents, and it diffuses the warm air horizontally across the floor of the saloon on both sides (the other two vents go to the forward v-berth and the rear quarter berth/nav station).

In additon to the primary function of putting alot of warm air at floor level, it also provides some very nice heat therapy when sitting at the captain's table. You can either rest you feet atop the heated board or if you really have cold feet, slip your toes under the board for some intensive heat therapy.

I'm toying with the idea of replacing the current pine board with cedar, to have aroma therapy as well ;-)

Anyway, for those still aboard at this time of year, I thought you'd appreciate the idea.

PS: please look past the poor state of the interior wood... refinishing the interior is next winter's project...

Cool design. On my boat the captain would never get to rest his feet there, however, because the cat would always be camped on the board.
