Hard Freeze Warning in Florida Areas - What Are You Doing ?
To protect your boat? Are most sailboats well enough insulated just due to the fiberglass etc that 5-8 hours of temperatures in the twenties wont hurt the plumbing? Not too worried about the rum stash but I am worried about the possibilitiy of water lines freezing and bursting. I will probably blow out the lines and leave the faucets open.. unless someone is certain its not an issue.

the water does not get cold that fast below the waterline-but i think
blow out the lines and leave the faucets open is a good idea! 46* now in Lake Worth/Palm Beach and this is as cold as its suppose to get here about 7am

FWIW, after almost 35 years in Florida..... most of which I lived or worked on boats. I have never heard of a boat in the water with a frozen pipe. I have personally had my boat in 17°F

Woolies?...yes needed the woolies in Beaufort, SC. Winds arrived right on schedule at midnight. Reverse cycle heater working just fine = water over 40F and no need to worry about boat water lines freezing. Beautiful sunshine today.

Was up at 3 a.m. here in Fernandina Beach where the wind was screaming into the marina. Boats were holding up OK. Glad we were not at anchor. Headed farther south tomorrow, hoping for warmer weather.

If it was going to be those temps for weeks with teens at night and low wind chills, you might have a problem. I mean what's the water temp, low 50's?

Boo-hoo! So cold. You might even have to put long pants on today.
Was -22C here last night, not going to break -20 today.

You guys crack me up. It's minus 15 C (5F) with a minus 25 C (-13 F) windchill here in Toronto, and I'll wager the lake is hardening up for the first time this season. Florida weather is still shorts weather. Just wear wool socks and a pullover!
On the other hand, by Thursday it's supposed to be 45F and raining. This winter's very erratic for temperature so far. No snow, either, which I don't mind.

It is even forecast to go above freezing here in Winterpeg today...I hope you guys in Toronto enjoy the cold, we have kept it to ourselves for to many years.

Do you guys practice the on-set of winter by eating ice-cream, and getting "brain-freeze" as a "warm-up"
