Hard dodger?

I am thinking about adding a hard dodger to a Catalina 42 mk II. Has any one done this on a Catalina 42 or similar boat? If so any advice re design, construction, materials, glass would be great. Photos? Probable DIY project, but is there anyone east coast US who is making these commercially?

Re: Hard dodger?

There was a boat building operation in Oregon/Washington---Columbia Yachts??--that made hard dodgers for their boats (40-42' I think). My boat, a Passport 42 has a dodger from that company and it suits pretty well, but I am a short guy. Tall guys don't like it. I enjoy the protection and if it is well secured, it can be an attachment point for all sorts of gadgets--handholds, lights, you name it.
couple of pics attached.
Pete
first is after partial refit in Philippines
second is when I lifted for initial survey in Portland, Oregon.
sorry for lousy detail.
