Hand-Crank Chain Winch ?

Is there such a thing?
I need it to lift and lower a paravane fish stabilizer and want to use all chain without having to roll it up on a drum. Looking for something with that chain gear on it like an anchor winch. I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Help!

You've answered your own question, an anchor winch IS a chain winch, doesn't have to be used just for an anchor you know.

Just get yourself another windlass like the poster above suggested.

What I'm looking for is a hand crank winch similar to what is used as a boat lift in the $100 range but with a chain gear instead of a wire drum. The windlass type run around $1000 to $3000.

Look for a Chain Fall Hoist or Chain Come Along

This is about as cheap as they come unless you could find one on ebay/craigslist. And then you would have to add as much chain as you need, which is a special hardened chain.
