Groco SweetTank system - holding tank aeration

I saw a product in the West Marine catalog; Groco SweetTank system that pumps air into the bottom of the tank. Has anybody installed one? Seems like a good idea, but pricey... $335. I'm thinking an aquarium pump might do the trick. Comments?

I bought one on eBay for 50 ish. It does seem to work. But there is nothing marine about it. Its just a small air pump (quite load though) and a tube with holes that runs along the bottom of the tank. Is it worth the effort to install (at $50)? I dont think I would do it again.
