....pretty good day today...found a guy with a jib that fits my

got a question that probably fits in the propulsion section ...but..the engine in my boat is seized....gas atomic four.....
...however I have a recently rebuilt 11 hp yanmar diesel. ....think it would do?

It would be very marginal on a heavily built 30 footer. What you'd really like is a diesel in the 18 to 20 hp range.

There are guys who rebuild Atomic 4s. You might go that route or at least be able to get something for it.

doing some surgery on the transom of the Gramp....cockpit is huge....but I can't do anything about that.....and the drains are tiny.....gonna doing some cutting and glassing ...and d add two ..two inch drains to her.....so I was thinking (it happens) while I am messing with this why not build a false transom gor her with a built in swim platform.....not a huge addition ....maybe just about an extra foot just above the waterline.....imagine a "U" shaped addition angling outwards as it goes down ( terrible description )
.....anyone have negative thoughts about a sugar scoop rear......following seas? anything?

She's already got a slightly reverse transom so the sugar scoop (in proportion) should look like a natural part of her.

yup. ..I was on the Grampian owners site and someone had fabbed one for their 28....looked great.....I hate the ladder
