goose neck

I'm new here so Hello!
I was wandering what the sevice life of the goose neck fittings are. I have around 3\16ths inch of play side to side and the pin holes are getting a little elongated. the fittings are cast alluminum and I would imagine expensive. anything you could tell me about this would be great!

thanks Matt

Visibly elongated? Replace it. If it is a common shelf part, it won't be that expensive. At least in the scheme of things.

I agree with Kai Nui, gooseneck toggles are not all that expensive.

thanks Guys !
it seems to me there should be some sort of cusion between the toggle and the ears on the boom end maybe some plastic washers to eliminate friction at that point. where the toggle pivots at the mat looks like brand new no slop at all.

That area takes allot of punishment. Any sort of bushing would have to be so hard, it may as well not be there. That being said, there are goosenecks out there with bushings, but I suspect they wear fast, and require replacements often. Simple is better IMHO
