Goiot SS stanchions

I recently purchased two Goiot ss stanchions as matching replacements for damaged stanchions on my Jeanneau.
I purchased by email from Accastillage Diffusion in Canet, France and duly received the stanchions.
Within a few short weeks the upper portion of both new stanchions developed a powdery rust.
I have emailed the Canet shop of Accastillage Diffusion twice, Accastillage Diffusion head office and Goiot (the manufacturer).
Nobody has even acknowledged my communication!!
Is this typical French customer service?
Does anybody have any suggestions?

It's probably just manufacturing residue. I would suggest a good scrubbing with a scotch right pad and water, followed by a little soap and water, then polish with bartenders friend, ospho, or another stainless cleaner. It's pretty common for their to be steel dust that doesn't get completely removed while fabricating stainless parts, and the solution normally isn't difficult.

I thought Goiot was out of business; but most of their stuff was aluminum.
