Fwd. Berth Endeavour 37 - Problem

I'm trying to remove the the port side board that the mattress sets on in the forward berth of my Endeavour 37. I've removed all the screws holding it in place and can lift it up from the center, but it will not come loose from the inside hull. There are no other screws holding it in place. I think it has a lip that slides under another lip in the inside hull, but it does not seem to want to come out. I don't want to break anything. Has anyone with an Endeavour 37 done this particular job before?

Have you considered whether the fore and back stays are placing a bending load on the hull which is restricting the removal. Try releasing the fore stay tension and try again?

I think you will find that the piece you are trying to remove is glassed to the hull
