Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

Thanks, zh!

"is that gorgeous white machine your engine or genset?" (singlular) You sailboaters are so cute. That white thing is, in fact, one of my two Cummins 450hp 6CTA propulsion engines. They are purdy, aren't they?

In other news, when not duckin' shots fired in the nation's capital, I got the exhaust system built and ready for the paint shop.

Q, you have all the makings of a true boat building madman:

No limits.
No regrets.
Total commitment.

Beautiful work

Thanks, Steve and xeon_tsd!

I'm getting closer to having the hull ready for paint. But first, I had to weld up the old exhaust outlets and get the old pipes off the boat.

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

Been working on little stuff that has to be done before the paint goes on. The aft stateroom window openings needed some work, but when I opened them up I found they needed more than I thought. Oh well...better to find it now than to have the paint fail in a couple of years.

But wait! There's more!!!

Finally, at long last...we got the final coat of primer on the hull. It's getting colder, but if the weather gods cooperate we'll be painting the hull this weekend.

Look, zh...we're knockin' this thing out every weekend. You're never gonna get your fix if you don't get over here and help out!

For example, we got the hull sanded and ready for paint over the weekend. Just in time, too...autumn is here and it's getting colder. We could have used your help!

Ah! A motor-sailor!

We still have the blue accent stripe to paint and final coats of MS1 High Gloss Clear on the tie rail, but it feels great to have the big chunks done. I'm moving on to other things now...like window installation.
