Sorry, but the OP's got a problem he wants solved. The company is working with him--good on them! The issue here is not about free speech: the issue is how to avoid a repetition of the problem which could sink the boat on the trip to the islands. Since Konakoma does not appear to be an expert himself, maybe he should follow the sourcing advice given a few posts back, and hire himself another one....

Just another happy Frigiboat keel cooler customer after 5 years of use. We got the Capri model with fan-air cooling for when we are in the boatyard!

I'd still like to know "The Rest of the Story" about that weird paint pattern.
It sure looks like something happened there.

Pure guesswork but for the keel cooling fitting to corrode away that quickly it would need a fair bit of current. My guess as to where this would come from is via the compressor and the copper compressor vapor discharge line to the keel cooler (condenser).

Mite be the only time I would let/use 5200.

IT STILL LOOKS LIKE STRAY, maybe that t-hole above is the head, and the uric acid is to blame.

I don't believe we will ever know what the true fault is/was.

But in the end I will always believe that it was a boat issue.

That being said, the owner, managed to not suffer the loss.

Whether it was boat, install, or manufacture.

He seems happy with the outcome so far.

I wonder if the fault isn't determined and it happens again, who will the owner suit.

My guess is the deep pockets, that will not be the installer. But the Manufacture, whom has already stepped up to the plate.

The problem here, as with other threads that deal with a possible Owner Error, the owner suddenly disappears once his problem is "fixed" not admitting the problem was his. In this case he has a bunch of free new parts and doesn't wish to have to pay for them if it was an error on his or his contractors part after the fact so goes dark. I've never had anything but great service from The Manufactures Reps.

Not a fair statement. I see that the owner (OP) has over 100 posts and has been a member since 2011. I am sure he will chime in when he has more info or results to report. Glad to hear you have had great service however that isn't the case for someone else.

Owner hasn't disappeared, he has been active on this thread with updates.

Then prove me wrong. I've seen this to often across the web and would be very happy to be wrong in this case. However the odds are in my favor that we will never be informed of the true reason this happened IF it was owner error.

The use of "The problem here" was meant to be generic about posts and I can see that an apology is in order if miss interpreted.
I never meant that this OP won't come back and give us the solution to the problem. I said that in most cases like this typically we never here what the solution to the problem was.

I've never said that this string won't have a happy ending.
The OP has his new parts and a fixed Frig.
The Manufacture has provided Excellent service.
The owners of the same system have a solution to a potential problem.

Eight days after re-install of replacement equipment, system operating per specs. Diver today checked keel cooler plate and advises it looks like new from box. Wednesday, the electronics meter guy (not expert, for those who busted my chops for saying so) checked the boat, shore power and water to both sides (again) and found no trace of stray current or differential. Install procedure same as original stuff, so, …? Will post any update/change over next few weeks, but looks good so far. Just don't get it!
