Freshwater Tank Leaks at Top

I have a racor plastic tank in bow that has about a 4" clear plastic top/inspection port. If I fill the tank to the top it will leak at the joint when I pressurize the tank. There doesn't appear to be any gasket between the two - just plastic to plastic. Any ideas how to stop that leak but still be able to open the top when necessary? Thanks.

Krash, the plastic threaded inspection port should have a rubber o-ring that fits around the threaded portion and abuts the underside of the flange. You can get this from Kracor but it is probably available in a hardware store in your area. I usually coat the ring with vaseline before installation as it creates a tighter seal and prevents the o-ring from drying out. Good luck and good sailing, Ron

Use a piece of plastic cut from a garbage bag, lay it across the opening, and screw the top on tight.
