Freshening fresh water tanks

Other than pumping all H20 out and dumping in clorox, any other suggestions for freshening the water tank? Ours is metal, aluminum I believe, and we have started getting a rotten egg type smell. Our tanks hold 250 gals of water , so we need to get an idea of how much bleach to dump in, and how many times should we flush after. Once we get this done, we are going to add bleach each time we fill as I read on someone else's reply. Thanks all for any help!

I just posted this on another thread "Cleaning Water Tanks". I believe it applies here as well.

The question of sanitizing tanks has come up before. When it did I saved the following links. Hope they help.

Good luck,

Thanks Rich for that great article. Going to print it out for the Capn to read, and we will keep it for further use. Sounds like an easier plan. Thanks again for your assistance!!
