Re: Free Formosa 41 Ketch project boat.

Encourage him to let us know how he's getting on with it.

I love a rehab project, not boats that's not my skill set (yet), but I love to rehab houses. Most people would also say a remodel can strain a marriage, go on forever, cost 3x what you think it will, etc., etc. But give me a crummy, dated house; uglier the better, I love to fix them!! As long as I can start with good bones, it's a great project. In fact, when the project is finished, I always feel a little sad that it's over. But then it's on to the next one. Rehabs aren't for everyone, but for the tiny minority of us that love to do them and have the skill set, they are wonderful.

I wish Jay all the best with this boat. I would love to find a boat that needs it's interior re-done. That would be terrific for me. There's nothing like designing a space for the way you want to use it.

Vino, hope to run into you, Aleutia and Mystique in Mexico.

Also love a good rehab (on a boat, refit). If you want to see what I did with my CT41 over the past almost 4 years:

So far two offshore shakedowns, now preparing for the first voyage. If all goes well maybe we will meet up in Mexico. I don't plan on going up into the Sea of Cortez though. Only continuing south.

Zee, are you watching? If you know where Jay is on FB, maybe get him on to this thread?
