Mathias,
Who actually built the hull? We had a Standfast 36 for years, loved her... but the actual hull construction for that series was done by a neighboring firm,
Peterson IIRC, who mostly did FG vessels for the
navy.
At any rate, she was done in Airex foam
core, but with FG scantlings of great thickness.
One 40 was dropped from the slings in a boatyard in
San Diego, landing on its
keel and then sliding down a bank, landing then upon another boat, doing it grievous injury. The PJ when then surveyed had only cosmetic damage. We met that boat in the
South Pacific years later, and she was still alive and well.
Cheers,
Jim
