Force 10 oven won't stay lit

I can light the burner for the oven, but it will not stay lit after keeping the button depressed for 1/2 minute. Stove burners work just fine. I have removed both thermocouples and will check voltage on both to compare.
If the voltage is good on the oven thermocouple....what should I try next? Dirty connections?
Thanks in advance for ideas!

Re: Force 10 oven won't stay lit

Has anyone else had issues with Force 10 ovens? Support seems to be a bit thin!

Hi, I purchased one 12 mths ago and have exactly the same problem! I don't use the oven so haven't bothered dealing with it. I'll be interested in what you come up with.

Re: Force 10 oven won't stay lit

Have you called Force 10? I had good phone support from them.

There is a part inside the valve that interacts with the thermocouple which might also need replacement. One other thing to try is:
Remove the knob, and hold in the shaft while you light. If it stays lit the problem is the hole in your knob is too deep (not pushing the shaft far enough in). I had that issue on one knob and it was a simple fix to insert a small item into the knob's hole to make it "shallower".

Edit: .. or try standing on one foot while you light it.... or tilt your head.

Thanks, I'll try it. No I never rang them. I'm in Asia and constantly on the move so didn't bother fixing it. I'm stopping for sometime now do will look at it.

Re: Force 10 oven won't stay lit

I have been told that parts are no longer stocked for my Force 10 stove as it is too old. Weird ...1998 is too old?? Anyway, I'm told that Sure Marine keeps a stock of parts for "old" stuff like mine. Here's their address...
Sure Marine Service, Inc. * Since 1972 * Webasto Marine Heating, Air Conditioning, and Galley Equipment

I'm told that this company stocks parts for "old" stoves and AC units. Here's a link....

Change the thermocouple 95% of the time that is the faulty bit.

I believe you are correct so the first thing I did was to test the thermocouple and it checked out ok. The problem is, determining which one of several causes are to blame, then trying to find the parts. The local marine supply is not going to carry parts for an old stove like mine built in 1998.

Why restrict yourself to teh local "marine supply"? The parts are the same as in propane-fired barbeque grills. Take the defective part as a sample....
