I suppose you could just put foam back in and put maybe 3 of the ceiling strips spaced well apart back to hold it. No glue at all.

I am looking into gluing it (sucks if I have to do it this way)

Or using stainless lugs (basically a tube with threads that is tall with a base that looks like a finder washer) that I can thread a screw into. I am in fact looking for decorative screws so that its not so ugly looking. If I can find a screw then I will take this approach so that the panels can easily be removed.

Close cell foam from Lowes for a start as a test piece. Then I am going to research a close cell insulation foam for the entire boat.
