Florida Boat Yards??

I need some names of full service boat yard anywhere in Florida that
can COMPLETELY re-fit a boat inside and out. Somewhat upscale, overall
skill, innovation, experienced yards...

any ideas???

Rybovich in West Palm probably has the ultimate skill level but they are focused on mega yachts now and I don't think they work on anything less than 50'.
Oasis Boatyard on Oyster Creek in St. Augustine is excellent and reasonable and can do just about anything. Don't know the West coast.

Lauderdale Marine center has lots of affiliated service providers that can completely fit out a yacht. But it is an expensive place to do so. I'd pick someplace further north. If it is for your St Francis, they will get you for your beam. Pulling, launching and lay days. Adds up after a while.

Jarret bay in North Carolina has the facilities, know how, and it was less expensive. Still cost $75 an hour, so don't feel that you won't be paying enough!

This is not for us (ha! I wish!)
I work in the TV biz and we're developing a show with a well-known network about remodeling regular boats to become "dream boats".
So we're looking for yards in FLA that might be willing to partner
with us on the show.

Also if you have any cool dream ideas, gadgets, etc (or as my husband
and I call it, "boat porn") tell me about them. If this program gets
off the ground, I'll be looking for boats to re-fit next

You might also try Directors in Ft. Lauderdale (on the Dania cut-off canal, very close to Playboy). Although they service many large powerboats, they do their fair share of sail also.
Another option is the Hinckley yard in Stuart, or American Custom Yachts in Stuart.

Why leave Annapolis? You don't have to travel a thousand miles to spend your money!!!!

I have been intimately involved with refits of boats in FT Lauderdale......The best way to go is to get yourself an excellent manager who can coordinate with the various craftsmen.......Unless you have one of those, you will get the shaft wherever you go.

all the expertise of the chesapeake bay and you want to go to florida? you need what some one suggested earlier a manager to make sure the work get done to your expetitations, you going to go back and forth to florida ?you have the best in the delmarva

I think the reason for Florida yards is because of the sunshine. Jacksonville had a large movie studio complex before California. I agree that Delmarva has many more yards and excellent craftsmen. The weather might be a problem. All I remember is when I wanted to go out on the water in the summer, it was overcast or rained.
