Fixing Limber Holes

Hi all,
This weekend I plan to fix the limber holes (simply drilled through the wood originally, nothing rotten but prefer to fix it now the floorboards are out).

What I have in mind:
1. Drying out
2. Using a file to get to clean wood
3. Using aceton or something similar to clean surface
4. Use WestSystem 105-205 on a tampon to make it waterproof.

Any remarks/tips? (this will be a first for me).

Thanks!

Cheers, Ari

Re: fixing limber holes

If nothing is rotten? Why not just clean the holes, or do you think they are too small? I keep a SS piece out of a windshield wiper for jobs like that.......i2f

Re: fixing limber holes

Nothing is rotten, this is purely preventive. (maybe paranoid but I hope never to have the floorboards out again so it is now or never....)

Not questioning your decision. I am not familiar with your boat. Why is it difficult to raise the floorboards? That should be a simple task in case of an emergency?.......i2f

Re: fixing limber holes

If you're Real Damn Sure that nothing is rotten and there's no punked out wood in there...the West System epoxy folks have all sorts of guides online. Treat the limber holes the exact same way as holes in a wood cored deck.
