Yeah, we agree with the other post about your quick progress on the
restoration. Nice to get so much done in the first year.
We have a CD31 that we bought in '13. We're just this year finishing up the last big
project: all new exterior
canvas. Mostly
budget that slowed us down, as we had to do an (unscheduled) repowering in '16.
These old CDs have aged well and are still very much worth bringing back to top condition. Solid, safe boats that can handle any kind of
weather.
We've been cruising coastal
Maine for several years and have learned something about the CDs: they're relatively immune to picking up lobster traps. Many thanks to Carl
Alberg for the rudder/keel design. We've yet to snag one.
We met a former CD regional sales rep in Atlantic City some years back. He told us "your CD can take a lot more than you can." Can't argue with him on that one.
We always try to thank owners who have restored some of the classics, in
wood as well as
fiberglass, for keeping the beauties among us so we can all enjoy seeing them in their element.
We wish you the very best of luck with you're fine
new boat.
