FINISHED Projects (major refurb / refit) - Pics and Links please!

Following on from a recent post by FlyingCloud1937 in the Refurbing / Refitting an Older boat - Advice and Ideas thread thought it might a useful idea to create a thread specifically for pics (and any links to own blog / website) of FINISHED projects (by finished I mean boat got to be used for the purpose intended).

- ideally with a before and after pic! and maybe some details on timescale and cost (not a War & Peace length blow by blow account!).

The idea being siimply to offer hope that at least some folks finish! .

Ok David,

I'll bite, it might take me a while to put together the story and pics on a blow by blow. Excuse me, with out being to windy.

So It starts here. I'm an old navy brat, whom grew up on boats, my family owning a marina and marine supply since 1969 and me being vintage 1957.

My first real boat was a 1957 BellBoy that my dad, and brother restored for me so when winter came I wouldn't scare off the customers( seems I had a penchant for giving all the facts) during a sales pitch.

But not to bore with those details.

I met my wife in 2000, I was in-between boats, but my friend had a 1957 Stevens. Our 2nd date I sub-invited her aboard on the the Annual Change of Watch for the PNW CYA.

She had only previously been aboard a ski boat or 2, never a yacht in any style.

So things go as things do. We had much fun, and some more time aboard Zanzibar.

Then my wife(then girlfriend) one day said we should own a vintage yacht. ooohahhh

From this

to this

and finally to this

The story shall continue.

just remember it was her idea, not mine.

Cheers Lloyd (FC37) for kicking off this thread . But methinks you may have missed the word "not" below / in the thread starter .

I figured folks will either have own website etc for all the gory details (so a brief run through, a couple of pics and a Link would suffice, or they simply can't be bothered to go into too much detail (or it's too painful to remember too much?!).

No need for that, useful links in them - besides. I ain't that fussy on threads being exactly as I intended , just trying not to raise the bar too high for others to bother to post on this thread.

some restoration pictures of our Ohlson the previous owner took, that I scanned. Quite the undertaking!
Home / Ohlson 38 / restoration | Mildred Rose / Phantomracer gallery

some when we bought her
Home / Ohlson 38 / prepurchase | Mildred Rose / Phantomracer gallery

Home / Ohlson 38 / 2010 interior | Mildred Rose / Phantomracer gallery

Home / Ohlson 38 / 2009 pictures / 2009 ohlson spring | Mildred Rose / Phantomracer gallery

my main website is www.mildredrose.com feel free to browse the photo album directories and website

The initial restoration was 2 years fulltime, restoration cost..well you don't want to know! purchase price=bargain of the century!

I have only done some minor changes-updated chartplotter, vhf, added balmar duocharge, some canvas work, etc.

Before and after:
