I've searched for a few days now but am still not happy with my findings so I thought I'd ask on here.
I've purchased the Armaflex, disassembled the
interior and am ready to begin the
insulation process.
The
interior cabin top had a styrene type stiff foam on it attached with various adhesives ranging from construction
adhesive to 5200 and everything in between. It allowed
condensation to become a white powdery looking coating on some of the FG surfaces. Most of it cleans up with scrub brush, bleach and
water after the various goops are scraped off.
My question is, will
cleaning it with acetone and then applying the armaflex
adhesive be sufficient? Or should I be considering painting the FG, and if so, with what? White
bilge paint? Killz type
paint? What about primer?
Or am I over thinking this?
