Fake Leather Material

I'm hoping to recover the interior cushions with a synthetic leather.

Does anyone have experience with either:

Ultraleather like this


Ultra tech 7000 like this

Or Majestic Naugahyde like this

Any thoughts always appreciated.

Ask them to send you a scrap or sample and if the Ultras don't feel significantly different to the touch...go with Nauga at 1/4 of the price.

Some fake leathers are perforated so they breath. Others, no matter what they are made of, will always have that wonderful sticky sitting-on-plastic feeling.

I have the samples in hand. The Naugahyde and the ultraleather feel similar but the ultratech 7000 feels much softer.

The supplier I linked to has discounted pricing that actually puts it cheaper than the naugahyde.

What I need are any opnions on how they feel in the heat or cold and how well they hold up. Any mold issues? Are they dimensionally stable?

We reupholstered our saloon with Ultraleather.
It's really soft, dimensionally stable and easy to keep clean.
Only downside that I can see besides the cost is it's a little slippery.

If they are anything like the Naugasoft that Sailrite sells, they'll hold up extremely well. In hot weather you'll probably want a towel or something to keep from sticking to the cushion. In cold weather you won't notice much, particularly since you won't be wearing shorts or swim suits.

When I did ours my lady wanted white, I tried to discourage her but white it was. There was no problem with mold or mildew that a simple wipe down didn't prevent but they did show the dirt and a couple got stained. Now I'm re-doing in a fabric.

Dimensionally, they are much more stable than fabric and were easier to sew because of the lack of stretch. I don't know about the products you've listed but the naugasoft appears to be darn near indestructible. I tried to poke a screwdriver through a scrap and it wouldn't go.

Probably any of them would work just fine. If not, you get to do the job again....like me.

5 years ago I redid our interior (52' Kanter) in Ultraleather "Brisa"; inlcuded all settees, chairs and nav station.

It has been remarkable:
Very comfortable, not sticky, not hot nor cold.
It has been incredibly durable, even with dog toenails and moisture.
Cleans up great with a little detergent and water. I have a tan color.
Would never go back to fabric!!!
