Make sure you run a fan 24/7 and have good ventilation, as in open port holes with bug screens.

Re: Enough is enough.

Buy a humidifier at Lowes or HD. Set it up to drain into a sink.

Yeah, could very well be, I didn't look close, but you see them often in the $20k range in usable condition.

Re: Enough is enough.

A foot of water above the cabin sole for over a year now?

I think it would be a public service if you just called a cement company to dump about five cubic yards of cement mix in through the companionway, to sink it at the dock. And reinforce all the rotted wood, because after a year, EVERY piece of interior wood work, the settee bases, the bulkheads, the floor beams, the engine supports, is rotted. Along with any wiring. And there's probably mold hiding anyplace above the waterline.

Re: Enough is enough.

Based on the description, if that boat was free, the dockage was free and he had a crate motor for free and a 40' storage container full of teak and a woodshop.

AND he was paying me 3k/year to keep it at his dock....

I still wouldn't take it.

You would basically be building a new boat. Except it's 40 years old.
