Engineer or Mathematician Needed

Just looking for a formula to calculate weight by volume

Keel mold is ready - will test it for leaks by measuring in gallons of water
Need to calculate weight of lead based on gallons of volume (just to be sure I made this thing the right size!)

1800# of lead = X gallons volume

Thanks

The density of lead is 11.34g/cm^3. This would mean that 1800lbs of lead is 71999cm^3 or 19.02gal.

71.9356 liters will give you the volume you need. 1800 lbs equals 816.47 kilos, or 816470 grams. Lead is 11.35 gms per cc. So you end up with 71935ccs or 71.935s liters.

19.0033 US GALLONS will give you the volume you need.

I will not venture, but I think my mathematican/engineer Phd.
partner might be able to help, he will not be back to work until
late in the week. (I'm the uneducated practical one)
Any chance you might be adding to the lead to harden it off
a little, pure lead is rather soft.

Often, a relatively small amount of antimony; which shouldn’t have an appreciable affect on density & finished weight/volume.

Thank you Gord, Forgot name...Antimony...guess had mental block, sounds to much like alimony!
Antimony also used in lead batteries.
