Emerald Sea Refit

Took my Wheel to the machine shop, they can tune up the pitch no-problem,...the question is how much? The previous YSE12G had a continuous Hp of 10 turning the shaft 986 rpm with engine @ 3000rpm.
The wheel is 16'' 3 blade 12'' pitch now, looks like it was originally 14'' pitch. New engine has max continuous Hp of 38, with 2.15 gear ratio.
Boat is heavy 13 ton, I'll have alot more shaft rpm, so I'm thinking 14'' pitch might be fine, I could go 16 if I want. Does anyone know a math formula that can answer this question? Could try 14, then move up if needed, but it would be nice (and cheaper) to get it right the first time.

Thanks for that, not sure what my prop slip would be? but if I put in .55 as a high, I have lots of wind and 2-4 knot currents are average here, that computes to 13.45 pitch to push my boat hull speed@ 3000rpm. THis leads me to guess that 12 might be fine but 14 might be best.

engine room

After getting the lead out, and epoxy/painting the space, it is ready for the new power....or so I thought....!! Bell housing is about an inch too wide! Today I will be making some noise & dust with the concrete saw.
