East coast of Italy

Can anyone advise where I can get a Lagoon 450 lifted and cleaned on east coast of Italy?

Prices in Croatia are mad, so should be much cheaper to sail across.

Many thanks.

San Giorgio di Nogaro, Italy. At the Marina Sant'Andrea Shipyard. There's also one more within two miles that can haul you out.

There seems to be a number of boat yards along that coast.

Re: East coast of Italy

Probem is not to find a yard, but it's hard to find a Travellift or Crane for the width.

Northern Italy is similar in price to Croatia, as is Montenegro.

Bari (Nautica Ranieri), Brindisi (Cantiere Danese) seem to me to be ok. With Danese some patience is sometimes necessary with the contact (in english), but I like the people there, I'm happy with the workers and the prices for work there. Antonio Ranieri is also very nice, and always answers, and he has a chandlery next the Marina. His travellift ist 8.20m.

Check out Fano, many builders there and a great marina for boat work. I know that ITA launches their Cats there so they should be able to handle large cats.

Re: East coast of Italy

I can recommend the shipyard in Brindisi:

CANTIERE NAVALE DANESE
Via Luigi Rizzo, 8,
72100 Brindisi BR,
Italien
Tel. 0831 412636 – Fax 0831 412866 – Cell. 393 9510734

This is the most secured place to leave the yacht for the winter.

NICK, run rabbit run the best way to save a lot of money is to leave the whole med a.s.a.p. they are outrageous here.

Maybe it is better in eastern greece or israel or tunis or algeria.
Avoid adriatic sea, italy, france and spain - you are getting robbed out there.

I had a good experience at the yard in Brindisi as well. The only negative, which had nothing to do with the yard, was that afterwards while on the quay downtown there was an oil spill which stained my just-polished topsides. I liked Brindisi, although it lacks the traditional architecture as the port city was leveled during WWII.

Re: East coast of Italy

Nick, did you solve yr problem? S Italy is less expensive that the north. I am in Bari (Ranieri) with my boat . very competent boatyard. Enormous travel-lift that can take up to 100 tonnes. An earlier comment mentioned the width of the travel-lift but i can ask Antonio Ranieri if you like but i think they also have a 450 on the hard. Call Antonio. his English is good. Security top class. Only negative is that they do not have a laundry but you can give them a load and it will be back in 1-2 days.
Some small shops locally about 5 min walk. Lots more shops a short bus ride (10 mins), or the old town and the basilica of Father Christmas (San Nicola) where his bones are buried. Old town worth a visit (bus about 15 mins). Airport is only 6 km and easiest is taxi. i suppose there is a bus but taxi is easiest.
