Early Force 10 Steam Heat

My 1975 CT-41 has a Force 10 steam boiler system for cabin heat. It worked well when last used over 10 years ago. I am getting ready to trace it out then get it working again.

Anyone have one of these or know they system. Would like to do some brain picking before tearing into it.

Is it Steam or Hot Water. Big difference in safety.

Not too sure how it works. That is whey I posted. It is a diesel furnace with a water tank adjacent, plumbed into the boiler (furnace) with copper tubes that run through the whole boat, in and out of radiators, two in the salon, and one in the stateroom. The one in the stateroom looks exactly like a 1940's-50's high school radiator, but smaller. I believe it may also provide hot water for shower, etc, but have not traced it out yet. I have found nothing on any of the forums or google about it, but it is a Force 10 unit and appears to be original equipment on a 1975 CT-41. I am looking for someone who has such a unit in their boat or actual experience with one.

Sounds like a wonderful system that is worth restoring. I once delivered a boat with radiator central heat(from the main engine) and it was wonderful to come off watch to a warm cabin.___My 2 cents worth.____Grant.
