dutchman system

i have a dutchman system and plan to store this winter on the hard with mast in. i have the installation guide and assume (danger) i just reverse the steps and disconnect the control wires from the sail, leave them attached to the topping lift and inspect them in the spring. i will keep notes so i will remember which side to start the feed when reinstalling. any advice ? capt. lar
