WD40 will take off duct tape goo without harming anything.
Yes, really, WD40. Just one more use for that amazing stuff.

That is DUCT tape, originally made for taping air ducts...
Not ducks...

Peanut oil works good. just takes a bit of time. works on masking tape as well.

Also goo gone..

There are grades of DUCT tape. The cheap stuff will always leave a residue. The long duration stuff doesn't leave its mark if not left on for months. Unfortunately can't remember the number of the good 3M duct tape but the stuff was night and day better than the usual variety of duct tape.

WD40 never be without it.

My thought exactly. Acetone for post 1. I don't think so on Lexan. As I recall acetone can be used to weld some plastics. I would sure test a spot first.

Just had the same situation. Used duck tape to cover port light while replacing glass. WD 40 works

plus 1 on this. it might take a little elbow grease but it's not as toxic as the other stuff. Hell there is 'bout 101 things that can be cleaned and removed with it.

don't be caught without Duct tape and WD40. essential tools on a boat...of any where for that matter ;-)

Bunker branded "Hurricane Tape" leaves no residue after a year in rain and sun. Grips better than the Duck brand.

White spirit works very well.It takes a minute to soften the glue but then removes it very easily.

Fresh lemon peel. Any fresh citrus fruit peel will work, but lemon is best. And for fun, try (carefully) squeezing it into an open flame.

Kerosine (paraffin, UK) WD40 or mineral turps. I now avoid acetone for the health problems - actually pulls me "down" - and the fact that is such a good transporter of evil stuff into the skin. It evaporates too quickly anyway, end up using a lot on a simple job.

Keep it simple, mineral spirits will remove it even when it has set a long time and gotten hard. Soak a piece of cloth and let it set a few minutes then wipe off. May take some soft rubbing.

I think you may be right? Laying up a one off, in glass, I would about bathe in it. I'm not sure of negative health effects, but probably not good. For a small cleaning job I would not worry about it. I'd get it in 55gal. drums. I think for tape residue some other alternatives been presented, eg WD40.
