I'm a relatively new owner of a 1972 Columbia
26 which hadn't received much tlc in the last few years before I bought it. The bottom was scraped some when I purchased the boat in June but I'm not sure how good of a job the diver was able to do given the condition of the bottom at the time.
Since then I dove the boat and tried to scrape off as much as I could get to but due to lack of visibility I couldn't get to the keel
and other parts
of the bottom. I read the thread in this subforum regarding cleaning
the bottom of your boat and have realized that this spring I need to do a haul out
to clean, sand and paint
However in the meantime I would like to get some use out of my sailboat and was wondering if anyone knew of any ramps on beaches near Olympia, WA that I could use to dry dock
my boat during low tide and clean my bottom better?
I only ask because during my search for a sailboat earlier this year there was an advertisement on Craigslist for a sailboat in Olympia that had a picture of the person's boat on a ramp
dry out of the water
. I'm hoping to find that ramp
and use it industriously for a few hours until my hull
