Do you use load rated components or unrated stuff?

I am curious if anybody has had bad experiences with components that are not load rated. In my particular case I am going to install anchors for jacklines and/or tethers.
I have a choice of Whishard brand name components or lesser known import components at about 1/4 the cost. Whishard stuff is load rated, the import bits aren't.
Both products are of comparable physical size and made from stainless. The Whishard stuff is drop forged which gives a stronger product ... but I don't know how much stronger.
Of course the obvious reply will be "what's your safety worth to you" and I agree with that sentiment but maybe I can afford a couple extra anchor points with cheaper components and that could actually improve my safety .....
Anyway, I just thought I would run this up the flag pole and see what people think.

While I am at it, any thoughts on Kong tethers http://www.jamestowndistributors.com....do?pid=63677?
