Do It Yourself yards

Does any one know of Yards or spaces in NYC/NJ are that I can haul and refit myself. It is time after Sandy and this winter battered paint and other parts while in the water. I read some time ago of an indoor hall in NJ where someone built a steel boat. I am in Brooklyn water storage (marina does not lift larger sailboats)

You might try contacting the Atlantic Highlands municipal marina, I know they have a lift and I believe that you can do your own work.
