Diesel Fuel Transfer Pump?
We need to be able to easily transfer Diesel fuel from Jerry cans to our boat's fuel tank without any mess or spilling.
The "funnel & balance-the-can on a rocking boat" routine is very difficult.
Do you have any suggestions?

Re: Diesel fuel transfer pump?
I use a little 12v jabsco pump on a long lead with a cigarette plug at the end , couple of lengths of new garden hose.

Re: Diesel fuel transfer pump?
I use a high capacity holley fuel pump purchased from Jegs with a commercial spin on diesel car filter. I run a hose up to the jerry cans and all fuel in the tanks gets a final filter. Used this system across the pacific when I had a bladder under the dinghy also.

Dave,
I figured I'd have to go with an electric one. It would be nice to minimize any sort of dripping or spilling AFTER the transfer. What do you do to cap the hoses once the transfer is done?
Thanks

a funnel?
wow...so luxurious!
i just use either a cut out soda or bleach bottle...and balance-the-can on a rocking boat.
gasoline is primary ingredient in the word's most potent and irresistible cologne on the planet.
just pour right before hitting the discoteca's...
no worries.

Say, you know what? I've been using one of them on land for years and love it.
Even better yet- there might be a way to leave the shaker in the fill deck fitting with no need to store the device elsewhere.
What do you think?

Diesel fuel transfer pump?
I use the shaker siphon from Amazon. It transfers 5 gallons in 1 minute 49 seconds. Hard to beat. I put the jerry can top in a ziplock with paper towels, use latex gloves and wipe the hose off as I bring it out of the jerry can. Also store it coiled in a large ziplock with paper towels. I don't transfer in rough seas, but you could if someone held the jerry can and another tended to the siphon hose.

Thanks for the ideas. Yes, I figured there would be some sort of mess involved and a way to contain.
Now for some humor,

Trying to picture in my mind how that would work. Not coming up with anything.
