We just purchased an Island Packet as well. Teak refinishing is on the project list. Haven't gotten to that one yet. It appears you have this down and it's looking great. May need some tips when we are ready to start.

Weekday - work for boat parts.
This coming weekend - Saturday, start engine (somehow); run new cable for depth sounder; any other work is a plus. Sunday - Mother's Day, visit Mom (and enjoy a day off).

I think this should be in the joke thread.  I do something most every day. This morning as I got up to go to work, I startled a sleeping sea lion and had to clean up because he sprayed stinky fishy sea lion poo all over the side of our boat and dock. Ugh. And my work friends think I live a glamorous life!! LOL

had a couple of sunny days, so the winter cover is off, the engine is down for a preliminary test fit (got to cut away some of the bearer to clear the solenoid) and figured out where to put the sea chest. Also got meaurements for a load of new floor beams. Spilled a coffee on the access panel which immediately dripped onto the engine so now its under a tarp again BENEATH the access hatch.

took the mast boots off--they both were original, 1976 made. willbe work to reinstall as we have to make em new and different pattern. then i went to stores and bought food then i deflowered my bbq with rib steaks that were sooooo delicious-- they just dont have anything in usa like this flavor of GOOOOD beef--havent had steak this good since 1968.
then i fed gato and now i am doing internetz. way toom uch to do here.

Varnished in the garage and installed trim on the boat. It must have been 110 degrees down below. I had to mop up after myself every three minutes. I need to remember to open the hatches.

Installed the tiller pilot yesterday. Seems to work (no time for sea trials before the night) but I can't write here what I think of Raymarine connector technology, for it wouldn't be nice at all.

Removed old teak deck!



Fixed stack pack, raised sail and restowed it!



Installed last of the refurbished hatches!

we had a fitting welded for the triatic tang which also is the mizzen spreader attachment=20 usd, we will be doing the reinforcement of the support beam under mast step for mizzena nd batteries..we will be finishing the rig tuning and such in a couple of days and placement of wedges we are making and th e mast boots....hoooyaaahhh..life is sooo gooood......

1) Removed old dolphin cutter

2) Found out no one in Portland Oregon has 3/8 stainless cable, Ordered a new one from WM rigging shop

3) Reinstalled old dolphin cutter

4) Changed the oil

5) Removed the day fuel and water tanks

6) Threw the fuel sender in the water

7) Installed new Racor 500 fuel filter and gear fuel pump

8) Cleaned tanks

9) Took fuel tank to welder to have two additional bungs welded in

10) Built new fuel pick ups (1/2" NPT X 3/8 flare with 9/16 brass tube soldered in)

11) Said screw the boat Sunday went for a motorcycle ride

Never underestimate the value of a quickie...

Went to the boat Saturday to do a couple of odd jobs. 18 knots wind. Went sailling...

Sunday was birthday. Oh my aching rum tummie...

When ones boat is parked at their back door, and the sound is three blocks away, a quickie is EZ and functional!

As for work; I've been replacing flooring in the cabin and building in a real head. Today I fit in a new countertop and different sink. Every Spring I do a major project the the middle of July head out for as long as I can.

End of July is the middle of southwest monsoon and less than stellar sailing. The list is long and I am expecting a longer than normal haulout...

1 - pull engine. Send for overhaul
2 - pull saildrive, batteries, etc. Clean up engine/saildrive/battery bay. Clean up and paint or replace battery bay floor. Install new saildrive boot and motor mounts. Clean up wiring
3 - remove deck hardware. Rework piano area clutches installation
4 - prep and paint foredeck
5 - polish and reinstall deck hardware
6 - anti foul
7 - install engine if done. Install after splash if not
8 - odd jobs - Zincs, service head and seacocks, winch servicing, clean up wiring connections, patch up lazarettes and covers. Bimini, dodger, sailcover stitching, install additional mast cleat, yada, yada...
9 - Option 1. Do interior refit. Option 2. Patch up interior and try and get 2 more years out if it. (probably gonna be option 2 - LOL)

Jeez I need to retire to own a boat...
