Dewatering Pumps

Not for the boat per se, but more my flooded yard.... BUT being a cheap sailor, I want double-duty.... IF my boat needs it!

Any input on pros and cons of various portable gasoline powered pumps, 1~1/2" to 2". (I'm thinking the 1" pumps are too small) Honda and Yamaha are obvious choices for quality, but are also VERY pricey. I don't anticipate accumulating generator-type hours; only a few hours once or twice a year.

Re: Dewatering Pumps

I've got an Edson manual (portable) that pumps 1 gallon per stroke. Roughly ~$1k. Pumps water faster than a garden hose on full blast can fill the bilge.
