WOW! the Boreal 44 is a stunning looking boat, slightly out of my price bracket but truly a beautiful boat. I love the built like a tank look, the ability to plonk it on a beach when needed and the shear volume of it.

Those davits are sexxy...can they cook?

I like those extruded aluminum toe rails..perforated..great for impromptu rigging and tying crap off to...fenders and whatnot...

Sorry, not a design feature of the boat but a couple of 'self-designed' things.

I am sure someone has done it before and I have just re-invented the wheel, but;

I got lockable 'crim safe' insect screens (with cat flap on one) made to the same dimensions as the washboards. Perfect ventilation and as secure as we can get when we leave the boat locked up.

I also got made a dodger frame built to cover the whole cockpit and as I couldn/t afford a hard dodger built, I sourced 2mm thick sheet of gel coated fibreglass ( the same stuff as they make refrigerated truck bodies out of) and got the dodger maker to make up a poly windscreen and vinyl sides & back with clears. We can keep the sun or the wind or the spray/rain out or open it all up and have good ventilation. It feels like a spray dodger, looks a bit like a Pope-mobile but it works.
