Re: Dazzle anyone?

Expect to be boarded/searched by Coast Guard and Navies wherever you will sail. <Not a good idea to being painted camo.>

probably right. So far my favorite is the HMS Belfast and the North Carolina is second, but they are a little more subdued and look 'camo' I'm going to have to figure out a way to incorporate a little yellow or something. I Wish I could find some better color info on the WW 1 designs that used violet and red etc.

This site is just about all I've found http://99percentinvisible.org/post/3...-razzle-dazzle

pretty cool audio interview too

Re: Dazzle anyone?

Nobody paints a boat these days if you want wild graphics or signage....

As with race cars and some planes you wrap them.....get with it....

Although I would prefer the WWI camo look , adding some colour might make her look a bit less threatening (odd to others?).

IMO a colour scheme like that could be very practical - if / when the hull gets marked then don't need a complete respray .

Re: Dazzle anyone?

Another dazzle scheme: French cruiser Gloire (ca 1944) camouflaged as a "railroad catastrophe" for operations in W Mediterranean.

Um, you know I go through life thinking I'm not totally stupid and then I have to face up to something I've done that proves otherwise; like the above sentence written by me. This paint scheme may turn out to be yet another in a long line of such enlightening moments.
