Crack on my water tank

Hi All

Advice please. I have a crack on the top of my (starboard) water tank. The crack doesn’t go all the way trough to the water, so no leak but when I fill up the tank, the crack opens up. It’s fiberglass. Should I clean and open up the crack and use polyester or epoxy to glue it and fill the gap? Any advice?

Re: Crack on my water tank

That should be an easy fix, however just trying to glue the crack back together won't work. My opinion is you need to grind it clean and then apply multiple layers of cloth with epoxy, Id say three.
However other will soon comment, you may want to hire this out and watch and ask questions

You should V out, tape and glue the seams. You should also know which epoxy or ester glue taints water and not use it.
