Crack in Catamaran Bridge Deck

Aaaaaahhhhhhh I've just noticed a crack running across the bottom of the bridge deck of my privilege 39 about 1.5m back from the bow.

We'd been slamming into some big waves so I expect this is the cause. Or is there something more structural and sinister?

The compartment above the crack is just the anchor chain locker. Should I look at reinforcing the bottom of the compartment to make it stronger?

Is this something that needs to be fixed ASAP or can I get away with it for a few months of sailing?

Re: Crack in catamaran bridge deck

Do you know if it is just the gelcoat or does the crack goes into the glass?

If you don´t know the answer, you need to get out your grinder and go digging for the answer.

Re: Crack in Catamaran Bridge Deck

Highly unlikely to be structural as it is a Privilege. Built like a brick s**thouse as we say here in the UK.

Can you post a couple of pictures?? A closeup of the crack and a shot which shows where it is structurally.

I think you better do some investigation. I have seen a P39 with a structural issue in that area. Even though they are built tough, things happen.

I'm away from the boat at the moment. When I get back in a couple of weeks I'll check it out and post a reply
Thanks for the advice!
