Corrosion of Groco Ball valve.. mystery to me

Hi folks,

[URL="https://goo.gl/photos/tF642bdP1sfwmQbh7"
[/URL]I have just replaced the ball valve for our heads poo-out.... The pictured one lasted about 1 year before going this funny colour (looks a darker green in person)... The valve isn't bonded, nor attached to anything else metal aboard (fibreglass boat)... Any thoughts what might be causing it?

All our other ball valves (changed at at the same time) are fine...

Cheers,

James

I took a look. Corrosion, big time. First, it no longer seals, so you've got both sewage and salt water in it. Replacement time. Second, get a stainless steel ball this time. Third, bond it to your boat central.

Replace it with a Marelon ball valve and corrosion will be just a memory!
