Construction Thread for Custom 45' Cruising Powercat
I work with B&B Yacht designs and we are currently building a custom 45' X 20' long range power cat.
She should be in the water around Christmas, and I have construction pictures from the beginning till today and I will share them with you thru this thread.
I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to the discussion of what we have done.
Here is a picture I took of her a week ago, but I will begin at the beginning tomorrow and let you see it from start to the present.

Hull halves in jigs and halves joined.
These hull were built from foam and epoxy fiberglass in female jigs. The hulls were built in halves and joined down the keel line and bulkheads installed.
Then the outside of the hull were fiberglassed

Where are you building? I would be keen to have a look if you happen by St Augustine.

The hull lamination is a layer of 2200 bi-ax and a layer of 2200 tri-ax. This is slightly heaver than the layup specs from Airex.
The hulls are hand laid , but all of the panels for the decks, cabin, and decks were done on a table and bagged.

She is being built just outside of Bayboro, NC , on Chapel Creek, not far off the ICW.
Please contact me if you would like to stop by. By car or boat, as we have a nice dock out front.
