Cockpit Drain Seacock too tall

CAS206, Attached is a photo of the 1-1/2" Groco Flanged Adapter with a street elbow and ball valve. The high point of the street elbow is about 4-1/2" from the floor. I hope this helps.

Your analogy is unfortunately, apples and oranges. Yes both boats have cockpit drains. The reason why they don't relate has to do with the height of the cockpit floor above sea level. Drains are crossed on vessel with cockpit floors close to sea level so that they don't pour the sea in when heeling puts the cockpit drain well below sea level.

That's what I'm going to do. Seems better than just the elbow screwed on the thru hull with what I'm sure where probably mismatched threads.

CAS206, I had forgotten about the thread mis-match. You are right, the thru-hull fitting has straight threads and the elbow has tapered threads. It's not a good match. The Groco Flanged Adapter fixes that. Thanks for the order! It will ship today.
