Clear Vinyl Help! Attack of the killer Sharpie!

In the last stages of making my new dodger, I grabbed some plastic to keep the clear vinyl form getting scratched while moving it all around.... UNFORTUNATELY... the plastic was also my pattern, and the sharpie that had been on it for 2 weeks, transferred some of itself to the window!!! Now I have several words and lines on my window. I tried a small amount of rubbing alcohol, and it lightened it but did not remove it... I also tried the dry erase marker trick, but with no luck. (I did not have a black Dry Erase marker, only a red... I will borrow a black one from the office to try). Any other thoughts??? It was going well up until this point.

Re: Clear Vinyl Help! Attack of the killer Sharpie!

xeon_tsd,

Most likely the UV will kill it if you're patient. Otherwise Meguiars Mirror Glaze !7 Professional Plastic Cleaner cleaner & polish work wonders, or Novus #1 Plastic Clean & Shine (Antifog Antistatic, Dust Repellent). We've used the former for years, usually can find it at Grand Auto type stores, and the Novus, from a marine store, if you're lucky.

Good luck with it.

Ann
