Cleaning Varnished Teak?

What are people using to clean varnished *interior* teak?

Mine is semi-varnished in that it has many spots worn through to the bare teak. Ideally, I would like to find a cleaner to get me by until I get a chance to re-varnish the wood.

I would hope the cleaner wouldn't leave some film I have to remove before a sand/re-varnish.

Any ideas on what to use?

Detergent and water Sully. Or if it is really grimey, Sugar soap.

I've found nothing better than "Murphy's Oil Soap". I use it on every piece of wood I own, boat, house, inside, outside.

Sugar soap? Is that sugar mixed with soapy water? I've never heard of such a concoction, what does it do? Or am I waaay off base on this?

We use white vinegar, cut 50% with water. Gets rid of, and prevents, mildew. We give it a wipe down with Daly's Seafin Teak Oil every year or so.

Sugarsoap is a combination of chemicals. It includes Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Phosphate and often Sodium Silicate as a slight abrasive. The combined mixture looks like sugar. When mixed in water, it produces an Alkaline solution which is excellent at cleaning paintwork before repainting.
I did a quick search on Wiki and it seems you may have a different product that is called sugar soap.
A similar product is TSP, or Trisodium Phosphate which is more likely available.
